On frosty nights, sensitive outdoor plants should be protected with fleece. However, many lettuces, spinach, chard, rosemary and chives can tolerate sub-zero temperatures.
If there is no longer a threat of night frosts, sensitive fruit vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers or zucchinis can be planted outdoors. However, young plants have already grown on many windowsills. When the root tips are visible at the bottom of the seed pots, it is high time to prick out. Special pricking out sticks are available in shops to gently remove the plants from the seed pots and separate them. These can also be used to prick out the planting holes in the new pots.

With the start of the gardening year, the berry bushes should now also be supplied at the latest. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries are looking forward to a spring fertilization.
