A bizarre dispute
Heiligenblut: “Are there any investors at all?”
The mountain railroad dilemma in Heiligenblut am Großglockner is never-ending: the owners are already doubting the existence of the investor group. One ultimatum follows the next.
It's getting pretty bizarre: the ultimatum issued by the mountain railroads, which demanded the announcement of the new investor group for the Heiligenblut ski resort by 6 pm on Monday, was apparently not taken seriously by the interested parties. "My clients will only make themselves known once we have received written confirmation that the mountain railroads are actually prepared to give up one hundred percent of their shares and are ready to negotiate," says lawyer Ferdinand Lanker. "An announcement now would only lead to individual negotiations in the background and we don't want that! Because my clients all want to pull together!"
Next deadline
Now the lawyer turns the tables and counters with a deadline of his own: "We want written confirmation and precise figures regarding liability and debt by Friday." In addition, the lawyer clarifies that the investors are only assuming those loan obligations and liabilities that relate to the Heiligenblut region.
Mountain railroads doubt the existence of the investor group
The mountain railroads, who had hoped for an answer on Monday, doubt the existence of the investors. "Do these regional entrepreneurs even exist in this form?" asks Bergbahnen spokesperson Franz Gruber, adding: "We assume that there is no interest. In addition, we don't know whether the people have the necessary creditworthiness and expertise to run the business." However, they would still be open to talks.
Slowly but surely, the parties involved will have to come to an agreement. Not that the mountain railroad dilemma in Heiligenblut will finally turn into a farce.
