What the weather will be like
Before the Easter bunny comes the snowman
The yo-yo weather of the past few days will continue to accompany us in the coming days. It will be hot, cold, windy and rainy right through to the vacations - and white splendor could also fall from the sky once again. The "Krone" asked what the weather will be like.
The Easter bunny brings something for everyone, even when it comes to the weather. Because before and during Holy Week - including the Easter vacations - everything is possible, as meteorologist Christian Ortner from GeoSphere Austria reveals. After a cold, frosty night, today, Wednesday, will be spring-like warm again with up to 18 degrees and very sunny, he promises. However, the outlook for the rest of the day is somewhat gloomier.
Cold and very windy
From Thursday, the weather will become much more changeable and, above all, uncomfortable. "Temperatures will drop and there will be rain, especially in the south and in the mountains," says Ortner. It should only stay dry in the Mühlviertel and the lowlands. On Friday, however, it will be sunnier and milder again. With temperatures of up to 18 degrees, it should be pleasantly warm.
Now it will be warmer, then rainy. It will be much colder at the start of the vacation, with the snow line dropping to around 800 meters.

Snow up to 800 meters
"But just in time for the start of the vacations on Saturday, so to speak, the weather will become more uncomfortable again," says Ortner. The wind will freshen up considerably, with gusts of 70 to 80 km/h possible. "Temperatures will also drop again and it will be wet. According to our models, the snow line will drop down to 800 meters," says Christian Ortner, who has good news for those ski resorts that are still open and anyone who wants to hit the slopes again during the vacations.
However, this is likely to end quickly, as the second half of the vacation could possibly be much milder and spring-like again from today's perspective.
