Treatment in hospital!
How Austro pop star Wolfgang Ambros is really doing
His fans were very worried when music legend Wolfgang Ambros had to cancel his "birthday concerts" at short notice this week. Since then, there has been absolute radio silence around the cult singer. Until now! The "Krone" now knows where Ambros is at the moment and what the doctors are concerned about his state of health.
Wolfgang Ambros had to cancel his concert planned for Monday this week at Vienna's Theater Akzent - it was the day of his 72nd birthday. At short notice. The resulting concern and questions from his many fans as to how the creator of legendary hits such as "Da Hofa" or "Zwickt's mi" was actually doing were correspondingly great. It was already a fact on the day that he was not well, which fueled various rumors. As well as the fact that Ambros doesn't cancel a concert "just like that".
Inflammation in his body
He also did not reply to personal messages. The reason is now clear. "Wolfgang is in a clinic in Vienna and is currently being checked over," says his manager Peter Fröstl in response to an inquiry from Krone. An infection is to blame for the weakened condition of Ambros, who "made a recording for Barbara Stöckl and gave two concerts in the days before", his intimate continued.
Rest prescribed
The Austropop star is now complying with the rest prescribed by the doctors, as he has to undergo a number of checks and treatments. "He is being fully examined by the internists at the clinic. With a 24-hour ECG and everything that goes with it," Fröstl can say about the status quo of his artist.
It is not entirely clear how long Ambros will have to stay in hospital. "It is expected that it will take at least another day or two before he is allowed out again," says Fröstl, who mentions the canceled concert dates in the same breath. "We are confident that Wolfgang will be able to make up for his birthday and concert on April 10." Until then, the musician should rest and regain his strength.
Ambros appearance on TV
Anyone who is surprised that Ambros will be appearing on Barbara Stöckl on Thursday evening (23.05, ORF 2) can be told that this is a recording. And so it is to be feared that he will have to watch this program from his hospital bed.
The "Krone" wishes him all the best and a speedy recovery!
