It's all set! The women's downhill awaits today at the European Cup final in Norway. With two best times in training, Magdalena Egger from Vorarlberg proved that she is a force to be reckoned with today. Just like her close compatriot Emily Schöpf, who finished second on Wednesday. There is definitely a lot at stake for both of them.

Today at 9.30 am is the day! That's when 19-year-old Leonie Zegg from Lech will open the last European Cup downhill of the season in Kvitfjell (Nor). And after yesterday's final training at the latest, it's all set - Mäggy Egger and Emily Schöpf ensured a Ländle "double victory", Karen Clement (Fra) only finished seventh.

World Cup ticket at the last minute 
A result that the two women from Vorarlberg would only be too happy to take today. It would mean that Egger could not only celebrate her first European Cup victory - the 23-year-old from Lech would also climb to third place in the downhill rankings at the last minute and thus secure a World Cup ticket for next season. And Schöpf, who only got back on skis on Tuesday after an eleven-day break due to a bruised boot, would take the lead in the overall EC standings if she finished like yesterday and take a 42-point cushion over Clement into the final super-G on Friday.

There are still reserves for the race
Calculation games that are of little interest to either of them. "But we are well prepared, still have some reserves and are looking forward to the race," agree Egger and Schöpf.
