Yoovidhya clan active
Red Bull plans: relocation and more power for Horner?
The power struggle at Red Bull seems to have reached the next level. According to reports, the Thai majority owners now want to become more active. Christian Horner could become CEO of the entire company despite the accusations against him. The company headquarters could also disappear from Austria.
These are explosive rumors that are currently doing the rounds and could herald the next round in the internal Red Bull power struggle. The Thai majority owner has a key role to play here. The Yoovidhya family has largely stayed out of the business during Dietrich Mateschitz's lifetime. But that is now set to end.
As "Motorsport-Total.com" reports, the Thais now want to intervene and help Horner gain even more power. While rumors have recently surfaced that the Yoovidhya clan's backing for the Briton is crumbling, the opposite is probably the case.
Break with the Verstappen camp?
The 50-year-old is to be appointed CEO of the entire company, taking over from the three current Red Bull CEOs Oliver Mintzlaff, Franz Watzlawick and Alexander Kirchmayr. This also sends a clear signal to internal rivals Helmut Marko, Jos Verstappen and world champion Max Verstappen.
In addition, the headquarters in Fuschl are to be put to the test. The Yoovidhya clan is considering giving it up and managing the company from Thailand. This is intended both to save taxes and to cement their own power over the Group.
Another decision that would strengthen the rift with the Verstappen camp. The world champion himself reaffirmed his commitment to his racing team on Thursday. However, it is by no means certain that he will stay. The only thing that seems certain is that the power struggle will continue with fierce intensity in the coming weeks.
