New performance center
“Only 100,000 to 150,000 must be invested”
The equestrian sports association OEPS led by neo-Secretary General Franz Schiefermair wants to install Austria's first federal performance center for equestrian sports in Stadl-Paura before the 2024 Olympic Games. Thanks to the existing infrastructure, the costs for the project are kept within reasonable limits.
Linz has one for judo, Innsbruck one for climbing. Vienna, Klagenfurt and Ottensheim each have one for rowing. We are talking about federal performance centers that are intended to take athletes to a new level with top infrastructure, training facilities and personnel. And soon Olympic rider Victoria Max-Theurer and Co. will also be able to benefit from such a location.
The first federal performance center for equestrian sports is being installed in Stadl-Paura. "A lot of talks have already been held, and the goal is to get this done before the Olympics," says Neo-Secretary General Franz Schiefermair, who is also aiming for cooperation with the Olympic Center.
Role models are tangible
"We see it as very positive when athletes and role models are within reach here," emphasizes Provincial Sports Director Gerhard Rumetshofer. A big plus for the project! The horse forge costs "peanuts". "The center in Stadl-Paura is very well positioned and has no immediate need for investment," says Schiefermair. Landlord Johannes Mayrhofer emphasizes: "Only small details need to be adapted, that is in the subordinate range of 100,000 to 150,000 euros, which will have to be invested in the next few years!"
Kick-off in Ebelsberg
Show jumping zampano Helmut Morbitzer, who will open the season in Ebelsberg with his team on the Easter weekend and organize a total of nine national and international events, also emphasizes: "It's very important that this gets going, it's a very positive development for the entire sport!"
