Rooney’s Viagra prank: “Trained with a boner”

When you have friends like that, you don't need enemies ... In an interview with Des Kelly on "Hayters TV", Carlton Cole opened up about a nasty prank played by his former England team-mate Wayne Rooney. The 40-year-old revealed that Rooney had once mixed Viagra into him during training.

According to Cole, England's national team was on an international trip when the center forward noticed that he had forgotten his vitamin pills. When he revealed the problem to his teammates Wayne Rooney and Jermaine Defoe on the bus, they turned out to be extremely helpful - or so it seemed.

"They said, 'Oh, you've forgotten your vitamins, we've got some here for you'. They told me they were multivitamin pills, they cover everything. I went to the back and said, 'Perfect, oh, it's a blue pill' - and gulped it down," Cole described. Stupid idea!

"Everyone laughed at me"
The seven-time team player soon realized what exactly he had just swallowed: "I thought: What's going on now? Is that me? What's happening to me? I got a 'hardening', a horde of my teammates around me, I just thought: 'That's not so great now'. Everyone laughed at me, I still didn't get it," recalls the former Chelsea professional, who says he had no idea what Viagra even was, of the unpleasant experience.

It didn't get any better in training afterwards either. "Everyone saw the bump, I couldn't hide it. So, yes: I trained with a boner!" The Englishman can now laugh about the whole thing. "At least I had three legs, I was galloping," said Cole about the tough lesson.
