Gut-Behrami: “There’s still a year left, but …”
How much longer will Lara Gut-Behrami be competing in the World Cup? The 32-year-old answered that question today. Next year's World Championships is still a goal. The Swiss racer secured her Super-G crystal with seventh place on Friday. It is the fifth Super-G globe of her career and the third crystal this year.
The conditions at the last super-G of this year's World Cup season were difficult, Gut-Behrami emphasized to "SRF" after the race. "It certainly wasn't my best super-G. But given the direct course setting, I'm satisfied," said the Swiss skier.
Rumors have been circulating for weeks that the 32-year-old will soon be hanging up her skis. Recently, there has even been speculation that she will retire from the ski circus after the final downhill.

But on Friday, Gut-Behrami let her thoughts on the subject slip: "You don't know what it will be like at the World Championships next February. I still have a year left. There will hardly be a second one. Because it's hardly possible to prepare for the Olympics in Cortina."
In the coming season, the Swiss athlete wants to tackle the World Championships again. However, the 2026 Olympic Games in Cortina seem to be off the table. Although the dominator of the World Cup winter did leave one door open: "If I do, I'll say so." For now, however, she wants to enjoy her success with her dad.
