FC Südburgenland
The new coach has a clear goal: promotion to the Bundesliga!
SpG FC Südburgenland/TSV Hartberg has a new coach. Harald Bacher's aim is to achieve promotion back to the women's Bundesliga, and the 51-year-old will make his debut on Sunday (Mischendorf, 1pm) at home against SV Horn.
After the surprising 2-1 defeat at LUV Graz to open the second half of the season, those responsible at FC Südburgenland were no less surprised to part ways with coach Dieter Sachs. Four days later, a successor was presented yesterday in the form of Harry Bacher. The 51-year-old was coach in Rudersdorf for a long time and most recently led Fürstenfeld to the Styrian women's regional league, where they finished as runners-up. Now he is to get FC Südburgenland back on the road to success. How well does he know the team and the 2nd Bundesliga? "Because my daughter Anja plays here and I've been interested in women's soccer for a long time, I think I know the team and the league quite well."
"Showing the right virtues"
On Sunday against Horn, with the team four points behind league leaders LASK, a win is practically a must. Bacher - who can only lead the final training session - is relying on the "right virtues that are part of soccer, i.e. commitment and willingness to run, simply having fun playing soccer. Then it will work."
I see the FC Südburgenland team back in the Bundesliga in the long term.
Neo-Trainer Harald BACHER
The new coach certainly sees the team in the Bundesliga in the long term, "we want to make the leap with attractive and attacking soccer". The goal is therefore clear - but chairman Christian Marth emphasizes that it would not be a drama for the club if they do not (yet) make it this year.
