Seekirchen stay on course after a test of patience
Seekirchen moved ahead in the title race in the Salzburg League with a 3:1 victory in stoppage time against coach Lapkalo's "ex". Hallein, meanwhile, celebrated a clear derby win and Straßwalchen were held to a 0-0 draw.
The Seekirchen squirrel had a hard time feeding at former coach SAK. The Nonntalers - ex-national player Junuzovic is still missing due to a thigh injury - kept the Flachgauers well at bay. Just ex-Seekirchen player Hager fooled goalkeeper Heuberger, who remained out injured at the break - 1:0 (13'). After that, ex-professional Neumayr struck: first with a tradefer after 64 seconds of play in the second half, then after the 2:1 after a disputed corner by Plakhtyria (90th) to make the final score 3:1 (92nd). "Maybe we put too much pressure on ourselves," mused coach Lapkalo about the long-distance duel with Kuchl and the "test of patience". His reward for the victory: a nice bike trip to the triathlon course in Klagenfurt on Saturday.
"Results will come by themselves at some point"
The Nonntalers, who are playing against relegation, felt their luck had deserted them, as it had against Kuchl the previous week. "Before the 2:0 goal, their goalkeeper has to see red and only gets yellow. The corner for the goal is then not a goal," said sporting director Larionows. "But we can build on this performance against the top teams in the league. The results will come by themselves at some point."
At the same time, Hallein won 5:1 against Adnet in front of a good crowd. Homecomer and former Seekirchen player Wagner scored twice. Adnet coach Perlak complained: "After 20 seconds we should actually be leading, then we get three goals from three chances. There's just something missing." But his opposite number Lessacher was also dissatisfied: "It was good for 30 minutes, then not as we wanted."
Reunion ended goalless
Straßwalchen drew goalless with Thalgau in the reunion with former coach Jonjic (who had coached the opponents in the fall). Schörghofer had a great chance to win the game for the home side, but missed in stoppage time, as did Kreuzer at the other end. "A fair draw, nothing top-class," summed up home side sporting director Chudoba. Jonjic thought: "We're very good at the back with Jagic, but nothing worked going forward." The sticking point for him: Enzesberger's injury before the break. "We had a bit more composure with him. It's good that nothing happened, we have to take the point."
