Major operation triggered
“Bsoffene Gschicht”: attack with a knife invented
Large-scale manhunt Sunday morning in Spittal an der Drau, Carinthia: after an alleged knife attack in front of a pub, countless police officers, service dogs and the Cobra special unit were deployed. As it turned out, in vain.
After initial questioning by the police, the heavily intoxicated man was taken to Villach hospital with several cuts. According to the alleged victim (39), he had previously been attacked by four men of foreign origin outside a pub in Spittal an der Drau and injured with a knife.
A large police force was immediately deployed to search for the alleged perpetrators. In addition to several police stations, officers from the Rapid Reaction Force (SRK) and the Cobra task force also took part in the manhunt. However, without success - and as it turned out a little later, not surprisingly.
Lying out of shame
Because it was "a drunken story" - in the truest sense of the word: as witness statements eventually revealed, the alleged victim had fallen from a jukebox in the pub while drunk. And fell directly onto glasses on the floor. Out of shame, he invented the knife attack. Press charges! And the 39-year-old will also have to pay for the costs of the operation.
