At what price?

In 2018, Christian Cebulla was appointed Medical Director of the Mistelbach Regional Clinic with much advance praise due to his training. After a legal dispute, he has now been dismissed by mutual agreement. At what cost to taxpayers? News has also leaked out regarding the ENT "emergency cooperation" with Krems University Hospital.
It took a long time in court - the news about the court proceedings of the fired Medical Director of the Mistelbach Regional Hospital, Christian Cebulla, against the state of Lower Austria, which lasted almost a year, is short. The medical economist, who previously held a leading position in the general management of the Vienna Hospital Association, had moved to Mistelbach in October 2018 - with much advance praise.
Long legal dispute raises questions
There is much speculation about the reasons behind the sudden dismissal. "There was no longer any trust," commented the State Health Agency (LGA) briefly in March 2023. The dismissed medical professional, represented by renowned lawyers, sued the state of Lower Austria.
The fact that the dismissal has now suddenly been converted into an "amicable termination of the employment relationship" after such a long time cannot have happened without "side effects" - it is whispered behind closed doors: the fact that both parties have agreed not to disclose any details fuels the question of costs among insiders.
What did the internal dispute and dismissal achieve? Ultimately, the taxpayer is now being asked to pay for it.

New details on the ENT cooperation with Krems Clinic
The period in which risky ENT operations are outsourced from Mistelbach to Krems will also be cost-intensive. As has now become known, the University Hospital in Donaustadt will take over the operations, but otherwise the hospital in Mistelbach will continue to be in demand. As has been leaked, an anesthesia specialist, a surgical nurse and a surgical assistant will "commute" to Krems every Monday from 6 May to support the operating doctors - as the LGA confirmed to the "Krone".
It is emphasized that this is a temporary solution: "These services are voluntary." Otherwise, the situation is developing positively: doctor recruitment at home and abroad is in full swing and initial talks with specialists have been and are continuing.
