Strong four-man bobsleigh
Sharp turns and hot runners at the end of the season
Markus Treichl ended the bobsleigh season with a career-best performance on the upcoming World Championship track in Lake Placid and is now heading into the long break full of confidence. First, however, a vacation with girlfriend Vanessa in the Dominican Republic is on the agenda.
The sharp turns on Markus Treichl's bobsleigh made his team faster and faster, and the runners were running really hot at the end of the season. While they fell short of their own expectations at the beginning, they were among the top teams in the final races!
"It was a challenging season, but the results got better and better," said Treichl from Sistrans. At the World Championships in Winterberg, he and his pushers Markus Sammer, Sascha Stepan and Kristian Huber achieved their best World Championship result to date with fifth place in the four-man. And to round off the World Championship dress rehearsal for the coming winter in Lake Placid, USA, he also achieved his best World Cup result with fourth place!
With a view to the World Championships in Lake Placid, this definitely provides even more motivation.

Good feeling
The 30-year-old pilot can now go into the long summer break with a good feeling. "With a view to the World Championships in Lake Placid, this will definitely give me even more motivation," he nodded. Treichl finished seventh in both the overall combined World Cup standings and in the four-man event.
Vacation with girlfriend
But before he starts training again, Markus is taking a break. He will stay in the USA for a few more days, then go on vacation to the Dominican Republic with his girlfriend Vanessa Mark. The German had even more reason to be happy: she became two-man bobsleigh world champion with Lisa Buckwitz.
