"Make America pray"
Trump wants to sell his own Bible – for 60 dollars
"Make America pray again" - with these words, presidential candidate Donald Trump announced the publication of his own Bible. He already has his own personal online network (Truth Social), so why not "reinvent" Bible verses?
After perfume and shoes, the ex-president (77), who has been hit by legal costs, now also wants to sell his own edition of the "God bless the USA Bible".
He called on his supporters on his platform to put the Bible on their shelves at home.
"Bible is my favorite book"
"All Americans need a Bible at home and I have many. It's my favorite book," he claimed, before wishing his followers a "happy Holy Week." "We need to make America pray again," he emphasized. In English: "Make America pray again".
Trump's Bible is named after the song of the same name by singer Lee Greenwood, whose songs he likes to have played at (campaign) events. The Bible itself is "completely apolitical" and has nothing to do with his renewed candidacy in the presidential election.
Bible costs the equivalent of 55 euros
The work is said to cost 59.99 dollars and, in addition to the usual English translation of the Bible, contains the US Constitution, the Ten Amendments, the Declaration of Independence of the United States and the Pledge of Allegiance to the nation. And, of course, Greenwood's song.
Trump can use the money
Trump currently has a number of pending lawsuits that are causing him financial difficulties in particular - in one case, he was threatened with the seizure of real estate. However, billionaires have already set up a collection campaign for the Republican.
So he certainly has reason to pray. Perhaps his supporters will soon be quoting verses from Trump's edition - even though conventional Bibles are available in the USA for as little as seven dollars ...
