Actress Christina Applegate, 52, who revealed her battle with the insidious disease multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021, bluntly described her unpleasant diagnosis as the worst thing that has happened in her "whole life" during her appearance on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast on Monday.

"I have 30 lesions in my brain," Applegate explained. "My biggest pain is behind my right eye, so my right eye hurts a lot."

She said that while her vision is not impaired, the MS has affected her mobility. "My hand starts acting funny, and then sometimes I get a cramping sensation in my brain," the 52-year-old explained.

"Worst MS patient"
Later in the podcast, 52-year-old Applegate described herself as the "worst MS patient" who goes back to bed instead of stretching her muscles when she's having a bad day with pain. She also described MS as "mean" because it "fights back" if you push yourself too hard physically.

"Everything I said was a fucking lie"
"It sucks," the "Anchorman" actress added. "I hate it so much. I'm so angry about it. You can't get past it." She also explained that she prefers to speak truthfully about her MS journey because she didn't do so when she was battling breast cancer. "Everything I said was a damn lie," she admitted. "I was trying to convince myself of something, and I don't think that served anyone."

Speaking about her breast cancer, she added: "Yes, I immediately set up a foundation. Yes, I did everything I needed to do and we raised millions of dollars for women who were at high risk. Yes, we did some good, but in the background I was taking my bra off every night and crying. And I wish I had said that."

Applegate underwent a double mastectomy in 2008. In 2017, she had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to prevent ovarian cancer, which killed her cousin. In 2021, the 52-year-old made her MS illness public.
