Entrup with a premiere
“This goal makes me extremely proud!”
A header that Maximilian Entrup will certainly never forget. Because the 6:1 against Turkey was his first goal in the national team kit. His family, girlfriend and Hartberg President Brigitte Annerl cheered in the stands. The 26-year-old spoke to the "Krone" about his premiere.
"I still can't describe this moment, nor have I been able to process it properly. But this goal makes me extremely proud," Maximilian Entrup was still gushing at lunchtime on Wednesday.
The Hartberg striker came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute of the 6:1 win against Turkey and, as is well known, he scored the final goal with his head in the 95th minute. His first goal for the ÖFB team. "There's nothing better than scoring in front of your family and friends," beamed the 26-year-old. His dad, cousin, cousin, girlfriend and TSV president Brigitte Annerl, who even had tears in her eyes, celebrated live in the stands.
Ball gets a place of honor
However, there was no big goal party. "We sat together for a while in the VIP club. After that, I took my cousin and my cousin home and then I went to bed too." Entrup immediately packed the ball as a souvenir. "It will definitely get a place of honor at home. But I don't know yet where the ball will be, because I haven't had time to think about it yet."
But this special moment is already in the past for the attacker. "Now it's back to the daily grind, and that means Hartberg. And the next tough game awaits us on Sunday." Because none other than Rapid will be dancing to the showdown in Eastern Styria. Entrup's chest is certainly broad. "But that's the case for all of us after our performances!" Then nothing can go wrong against the Viennese.
