Ismail Seydi celebrated his professional debut in the opening match of the Champions Group against LASK, and a few days later the 22-year-old extended his contract with Rapid. The new contract runs for four years until the summer of 2028, with sporting director Markus Katzer speaking of a "highly talented player".

In the current season, the Frenchman made 15 appearances for the second team in the Regionalliga Ost in the fall, contributing four goals for the season. The dynamic attacking player was drafted into the professional squad by head coach Robert Klauß in the winter. On the last matchday of the basic round, he was in the matchday squad for the away game in Klagenfurt for the first time. His Bundesliga debut followed just a few days later when he came on as a 67th-minute substitute against LASK at the Allianz Stadium.

"The last few weeks have been very eventful for me and have shown me how quickly things can happen in soccer and that hard work is always rewarded in the end," said a delighted Seydi, who moved to Hütteldorf from FC Mauerwerk in the summer of 2023, about the contract extension. 

"Ismail Seydi's long-term contract extension is the logical consequence when you look at his development over the past few months," said Rapids sporting director Markus Katzer. We are delighted to be able to tie another highly talented player to the club in the long term and are convinced that his development potential is far from exhausted."
