Tyrol and Vorarlberg: 126 reports in ski resorts

During a special inspection by the financial police in Tyrolean and Vorarlberg ski resorts, there was a veritable flood of reports. A total of 126 administrative charges were issued and fines amounting to around 150,000 were imposed.

As announced by the Ministry of Finance, numerous infringements were punished during the main inspection by the financial police. A total of 126 reports were issued in the ski resorts in both federal states. In addition, 15 cash register violations were detected. In total, the businesses had to pay fines amounting to around 150,000 euros.

Hefty back payments 
During the current winter season, officials have inspected the ski resorts. These included ski instructors and ski schools, restaurants, accommodation providers and cable car employees. Numerous businesses are likely to have failed to register their employees properly. A total of 62 reports were filed. The companies have to expect hefty fines.

One case of a Romanian offering ski lessons via social media in the Kitzbühel area was particularly brazen. The man was not registered under trade law, social security or tax law. He was also not registered with the Tyrolean Ski Instructors' Association.

Major events also affected 
A further 64 reports were made during inspections at sporting events such as the Ski World Cup in Kitzbühel or the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen. Eight cash register violations were also detected.
