So much EURO in our Bundesliga

Numerous players from Austria's top division are hoping to take part in the European Championship. Ten players have the best chance of getting a ticket. Serial champions Salzburg have the most candidates.

Taking part in a major event is an absolute career highlight for many footballers. This is also the case for players from the Austrian Bundesliga. The upcoming European Championship in Germany is already casting its shadow ahead and the "Krone" knows how much EURO there is in the domestic league.

"There's nothing bigger for a young player"
Most of the potential candidates are to be found in the ranks of champions Salzburg. Of the nine possible players, however, only two have a fixed ticket (provided they are ready for action). Alex Schlager will start the tournament as Austria's number one and is set in goal. "I'd be lying if I said I never think about it," says the goalkeeper, who can hardly wait. Just like Strahinja Pavlovic, who is an integral part of Serbia's team: "I'm very excited to play in the European Championship after the World Cup. There's nothing bigger for a young player."

In addition to the duo, Flavius Daniliuc, Luka Sucic and Aleksa Terzic are also considered promising contenders. Fitness is a decisive factor for the latter two, both of whom have been injured a lot recently.

Storm's Kiteishvili included
However, not only a Bulls delegation, but also a larger Sturm delegation is likely to travel to Germany. Five players have already booked their tickets. Otar Kiteishvili will be particularly excited. His Georgians, for whom Sandro Altunashvili from WAC also plays, have qualified for the European Championship for the first time ever.

Sturm's Slovenians Tomi Horvat and Jon Gorenc Stankovic can look forward to a duel with title favorites England. ÖFB player Alexander Prass and the Czech Vitezslav Jaros will also have to postpone their summer vacation.

Hartberg are keeping their fingers crossed for Max Entrup. After scoring his first goal against Turkey, the striker has a good chance of getting a ticket. LASK have only one serious contender in the shape of Ukrainian Makysm Talovierov.
