Energy costs are going down: EVN KG is again lowering prices for new contracts as of April 1. Many existing customers will also (soon) be able to switch to the cheaper system.

New customers can choose between a tariff with guaranteed prices and a corresponding commitment for one year or a market-based tariff that is adjusted on a monthly basis.

Electricity 47 percent cheaper than in 2023
"Those who commit for a year benefit from stable prices - no matter what the next winter brings," explains EVN KG Managing Director Herwig Hauenschild. The energy price of the associated Garant electricity tariff will fall to 14.14 cents net (16.9680 cents gross) per kilowatt hour. In comparison, the offer is around 47 percent cheaper than the offer from April 1, 2023. If you prefer an electricity tariff that is close to the market and is adjusted monthly to market developments, the Aktiv tariff is a suitable offer. From April 1, this will be 9.59 cents net (11.5080 cents gross) per kilowatt hour.

Depending on the tariff and commitment, existing customers can also benefit from the new offers. At the latest when their commitment expires.

EVN's gas prices will also become cheaper in April. The guaranteed gas tariff with a one-year commitment and simultaneous price guarantee will fall by around 55 percent compared to last year's offer to 5.30 cents net (6.36 cents gross) per kilowatt hour. From April, the float tariff will remain stable at a favorable level of 3.3780 cents net (4.0536 cents gross).

It is also worthwhile for existing customers to take a look at their tariff. "Depending on the tariff and commitment, existing customers can also benefit from the new offers. We will contact our customers with a new attractive offer at the latest when their commitment expires," says Hauenschild.

EVN info bus on the road from mid-April
In order to provide customers with the best possible advice, EVN will be starting another information tour throughout Lower Austria from mid-April. "In order to help as many people as possible to save costs, our tour will focus on communities with a high population density," explains Hauenschild. "This does not include towns where we already have a service center." Older people in particular prefer personal contact to the online service.

Existing customers receive a message
More than 60 percent of existing customers of the Lower Austrian energy supplier can also switch to the new tariffs. They will automatically receive a message from EVN and should then actively switch to the new price system - as required by national law.
