GAK celebrates a lucky win in the match against Ried

GAK won Friday's 2nd league match and took the next step towards promotion! 

The league leaders were not convincing at the strong SV Ried, but won 1:0 (0:0) and are now 14 points ahead of their closest rivals. Leoben took over second place from FAC with a 0-0 draw against Kapfenberg, who can reduce the gap to GAK to twelve points again on Sunday against Liefering. 

Rieder were the better and more aggressive team against the leaders right from the start. A goal by Wilfried Eza after a wonderful counter-attack was disallowed for offside (7'), Ante Balic also missed a great chance (25').

GAK get by without a yellow card
GAK, on the other hand, lacked passing accuracy and did not create a single real chance in the first half. Only a totally misplaced Rieder back pass created danger, but goalkeeper Andreas Leitner cleared against Daniel Maderner (28'). Graz were also lucky that Yannick Oberleitner was not shown a yellow card shortly before the break.

Ried continued to push for victory after the break, but the Innviertel side failed to score. GAK, on the other hand, converted their first chance of the second half through Thomas Mayer (75') and go into the next few games with a big points cushion.
