“I’m quitting!” Lizzo hints at the end of her career

Singer Lizzo has apparently had enough of the music business. In an Instagram post that she published on Saturday night, the 35-year-old told her fans: "I'm quitting!"

One of the reasons Lizzo gave for her decision to turn her back on her music career was that she was fed up with being pushed around in her life and on the internet.

"All I want to do is make music, make people happy and help make the world a better place than I found it," she said.

But instead she has to constantly defend herself against lies that are spread about her. She is also constantly being denigrated because of her appearance.

"I didn't sign up for this crap. I'm quitting", Lizzo finally concluded her post.

Lawsuit against Lizzo
However, the artist, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, is facing accusations herself. Last summer, three dancers filed a lawsuit against Lizzo in court in Los Angeles. They claim that the working environment at Lizzo's concerts is characterized by an "oversexualized atmosphere" and that there have been incidents of discrimination and sexual harassment.

"I don't usually respond to false accusations, but these are just as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to respond to," Lizzo wrote on Instagram at the time. "These hyped up stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional."

Lizzo wrote that she takes nothing more seriously than respect for women. The accusations had hurt her.
