SAK kickers without salary
Dollinger: “Nobody is interested in the regional league”
ASK sporting director Matthias Dollinger complains about the lack of spectators and the attractiveness of the Regionalliga Mitte. In the Carinthian league, the SAK players moan about outstanding salaries. .
After three wins in a row, ASK lost for the first time in the Regionalliga Mitte on Friday at Wallern - losing 2:1 in the end. Despite this, ASK sporting director Matthias Dollinger moans about the current situation. "It's simply brutally difficult financially when you have the smallest budget in the regional league at 120,000 euros," sighs the former Rapid professional, highlighting the financial problems: "We always have very few paying spectators at home games - understandably! Because Carinthian soccer fans would rather watch a derby against KAC, Donau or SAK than a match against Wallern or Wels!"
"900,000 euro budget"
Which in turn has a negative impact on the search for sponsors. "Fewer spectators mean fewer advertising boards sold. In short: unfortunately nobody is interested in the regional league!"
How could the problem be solved? "A reform would be good. Or a main sponsor. When I think that Wels have a budget of 900,000 euros. And we start to sweat with every bus trip, which is a horrendous cost for us. . ."
"For four months now. .."
Speaking of money. The Carinthian League club SAK is not getting any. "We haven't received anything for four months," complains a player who contacted the "Krone" editorial team.
Club boss Marko Wieser explains: "That's normal for a club, everywhere. And we always pay out in three to four installments per year anyway. Because we have no income in winter, we pay out everything in April. That's not really an issue, everyone knows that." On a positive note, the bankruptcy proceedings imposed on Wieser's company in January were lifted with the consent of all creditors.
