Duo in scoring mood
This is what Sturm’s “Vikings” want for the hit!
Second against first, Sturm against Salzburg! The Bundesliga is set for a big summit meeting on Easter Sunday (17). The Danish duo of William Böving and Mika Biereth are in a scoring mood and want to take down the Bulls in the completely sold-out Merkur Arena. It would be a big step towards the championship title.
Around 1000 years ago, the Vikings terrified the whole of Europe with their raids. Sturm will also be relying on their Vikings on Easter Sunday in the hit at home against defending champions Salzburg: Mika Biereth and William Böving should put the fear into the Bulls' foreheads with goals!
The Danish duo are ready for the landmark clash, with goals paving their way recently. Biereth's tally is enough to make you click your tongue anyway: eight goals in his eleven games so far - but the Arsenal loanee is still not entirely satisfied with his goal tally.
"After games, I reflect on my performance in the evening, think about my goals and missed chances. I could have scored more than the eight goals, I missed two easy chances recently," said the 21-year-old blonde, finding a fly in the ointment despite his impressive goal avalanche. "I still have room for improvement, I can always do better. I hope I score as often in the next few games as I have in the last eleven."
In my opinion, nothing would be lost even if we lost. There are still a lot of games to play. But hopefully we'll both score and get a home win.
Mika Biereth
It's best if Biereth gets his goal avalanche rolling again against Salzburg. The Ilzer squad won't get many chances, so the few that they do have to "sit" all the more.
"We have to win"
Biereth's buddy William Böving also has his sights set on the "bull herd". "Europacup-Willi", previously a highly acclaimed goalscorer in international duels, has now also acquired a taste for the league. Before the team break, he scored against both Klagenfurt and Hartberg. "I was really pleased about that. The style of play suits me, I get more chances and can score more often. And my form is also good," emphasizes the second Viking, who also spends a lot of time off the pitch with Biereth. "But we're not roommates at away games."
Böving is clear: "If we want the championship title, then we have to win this game." Biereth is not so strict: "Even if we lose, nothing would be lost in my opinion. There are still a lot of games to play. But hopefully we both score and it works out with the home win!"
