Three major construction sites
Starting signal for renovations on Tyrol’s freeways
After the Easter travel period, the operator Asfinag is starting work on several construction sites on Tyrol's freeways to improve road safety. Traffic flow during the work is possible thanks to two open lanes.
Work will begin on Tuesday on the A13 Brenner highway. Renovations are taking place there in the area of the Patsch junction. Asfinag is extensively renewing the slope bridge there. The main carriageway is not affected by the work in this area. "There is only a detour via the neighboring Zenzenhof junction for traffic that has to drive up to the Brenner junction," it says. The work is expected to last until November 2024. Asfinag is investing around 4.5 million euros.
For drivers, this means that two lanes in each direction will be available on the main carriageway at all times.

Two lanes still available on the A12
Construction work is also starting on the A12 Inntalautobahn. From Wednesday, the Wörgl-West junction will be repaired. Both the entire junction and all ramps, as well as the feeder road to the B171, are affected. "For drivers, this means that two lanes in each direction will be available on the main carriageway at all times," reassures Asfinag. With a few exceptions, the ramps themselves will remain one-way, i.e. narrowed. The junction itself will receive a new carriageway, new guard rails and optimized signage. The investment sum for this area is around twelve million euros.
In mid-April, the construction site between Innsbruck-Kranebitten and Zirl-Ost on the Inntalautobahn will also enter the next construction phase. The construction site will then also be set up there in the direction of Innsbruck. The Zirl-Ost junction will remain open to traffic. In this phase, the construction work will concentrate on renovating the central reservation.
