Receives love letters
Mirko has a whole fan base, but no home
Little, shaggy Mirko has lived at the animal shelter for almost his entire life. His terrible past made it difficult for him to trust people for a long time. Today, he has his own fan community, who have now given him a lovely and tasty Easter. But there is still something missing for his great happiness ...
Little Mirko with the lion's mane had to go through something unbelievable. His previous owner didn't mean well by the sweet four-legged friend - he tortured him and almost drowned him. After that, he was so distraught that he refused to be stroked for nine years and only hid in his doghouse, reports the German newspaper "Bild".
He was also unavailable for walks and treats. An animal shelter near Chemnitz even said that Mirko was "Germany's saddest dog". Everything changed after a "Bild" report: a trainer became aware of him and was determined to help him overcome his fear. No sooner said than done. Mirko now goes for walks every day, lets himself be stroked and even brushed.
Easter party at the animal shelter
Many people are following Mirko's story. Student Anika, for example, regrets not being able to give the dog a home. But she at least wanted to make him happy and wrote to him: "Spring is slowly returning and it's time for the Easter bunny to make his way to you with little surprises."
Mirko was allowed to be there when the present was unpacked - including extensive sniffing and a taste. Anika's kind words were also well received. The animal shelter team reads each dog its fan mail.
Looking for a loving owner
Mirko has godparents, presents and is actually quite famous. But he is still missing something to make him happy - a loving family. As he is a bit timid, a place in the countryside would be fine. If you are interested, please contact the "Kandelhof" animal shelter.
