Schopp disappointed: “You can’t win a game like this”
Rapid Vienna dispatched Hartberg 3:0 on Easter Sunday. Accordingly, the two coaches drew different conclusions. While Robert Klauß praised the Rapid players, Markus Schopp was unhappy with his team's performance.
Markus Schopp (Hartberg coach): "If you play like we did this time, start the game passively, concede a quick goal, don't win any duels and ultimately also completely lack goal threat, you obviously can't win a game. Our performance today was absolutely inadequate. We know we have quality, but unfortunately we didn't bring it onto the pitch, and that's crucial. There were too many players in the team who didn't reach their performance limits today. That means we have to keep working hard. We definitely want to improve and want to show in Klagenfurt that we can't be written off in the battle for the international places just yet."
Robert Klauß (Rapid coach): "I knew it would be difficult in Hartberg. A quick goal like the one we scored today always helps, of course. We then did a good job of closing down at the back, we stood compactly and also managed to hurt Hartberg time and again with good play from the back. Our opponents didn't manage to put us under any real pressure at any stage, so it has to be said that we had the game under control at all times after taking a quick lead. Nevertheless, I'm sure that the battle for the international places will remain exciting until the last matchday. We know that every point is at stake and will do everything we can to keep collecting points."
