Fallen trees and objects are blown away by the wind. Fire departments in Carinthia had to be called out in the early hours of Monday morning due to squalls. Emergency services ask for caution.

It was stormy in Carinthia on Easter Monday. In the Rosental valley in particular, members of the fire departments have been working since early in the morning to clear storm damage. Trees have fallen and crashed onto roads. "The hotspot is in the Rosental valley," says the state alarm and warning center (Lawz). But the emergency services were also alerted in the St. Veit, Klagenfurt-Land and Völkermarkt areas. "Several trees fell onto the road", continued the Lawz. Residents also noticed damage to roofs.

"Warning! Stay at home! "
The state alarm and warning center asks the population not to leave their homes. "Please take extra care when leaving the house! Falling or flying objects can quickly lead to injuries. It is best to stay at home."

Thousands of households without power
In these regions, Kärnten Netz also recorded isolated power outages. Around 3000 households were affected on Monday. The cause: several trees cut the power lines.

Ski resort had to close
The Nassfeld ski resort did not open on Easter Monday due to the strong winds. "Lift operations cannot be resumed due to the bad weather conditions," said the operators.

Rainy start to the week
According to meteorologists, Monday will be rainy and cold. The situation calmed down somewhat in the afternoon. Around 80 fire departments had to be called out.
