Easter nests wanted
Car smashed through gate: children in the garden were lucky
On Easter Monday, a driver without a license crashed his car into the entrance gate of a detached house in Sautern in the district of Neunkirchen (Lower Austria) and came to a halt in the garden. A few seconds before, small children were still looking for Easter nests right there.
Even the emergency services of the Pitten fire department had to swallow! On Easter Monday, the Florianis were alerted to a vehicle recovery in Sautern, a cadastral municipality of Pitten. A driver without a license crashed his car into the gate of a detached house, broke through it and came to rest in the garden behind it. He may have taken a bend at too high a speed and consequently entered the oncoming lane.
Children were looking for nests
The shock for the family living there is profound. A few seconds before the car crashed into the garden, small children were looking for Easter nests in this very spot. "If the accident had happened a few moments earlier, there would have been an absolute tragedy," writes the Pitten fire brigade.
The emergency services used a crane to recover the car involved in the accident. The Pitten fire department was deployed with four vehicles - crane, command, rescue and HLF.
Appeal from the Florianis
"Given the occasion, we as the fire department would also like to make an urgent appeal to all people to only operate a car if they are authorized to do so and are not impaired in any way!", writes the fire department. "Today's example shows what can otherwise happen or, in the very worst case, what can happen!"
