"The good old Schilling", "Reckon with Schilling", "Schilling for Europe" - these are the three slogans with which the Greens are launching their EU pre-election campaign. They are plays on the name of top candidate Lena Schilling. After the mishap with gaps in knowledge about Norway's non-membership of the EU, the Greens are now trying their hand at humor.

The start to the election campaign was bumpy for the young Viennese. Schilling embarrassed herself at the Green Party congress in Graz at the end of February, where she was chosen as the lead candidate, by saying that she did not know that Norway is not an EU member state.

In response to a question on the ORF satire program "Gute Nacht Österreich", she said: "For God's sake. Now it's getting embarrassing." She later apologized for this and explained her answer with nervousness. "My head was absolutely empty." "Of course" she would normally have known that Norway was not a member of the EU.

Young people are motivated to "join in"
Now the Greens are launching their first series of posters with an emphasis on humor. Although Schilling advertises with the "good old Schilling", the campaign is primarily aimed at young people. Under the title "Hey you! Get involved.", calling on them to get involved.

You can register for a meeting with Lena, where you can get to know her and talk about common ideas for Europe. The first meeting will take place on April 17 in Vienna. You can join the Green team and help with the election campaign or simply subscribe to the classic newsletter.

Schilling focuses on green classics
"I'm really pleased about the many messages from people who want to help. The election is about our common future. We are fighting for the climate and against the shift to the right. We can use every helping hand," said Schillig in an interview with the "Krone" newspaper.
