Fun and action
Dinosaurs and pirates
The IKUNA nature resort in Natternbach, Upper Austria, stands for inspiration, art and nature. The aim is to be a place of well-being, discovery and shared experiences. Two children tried it out - and loved it!
No matter how long you spend there - time is always far too short at the IKUNA adventure park in Natternbach in Upper Austria. What began as a small western village is now a huge leisure and sports area for all ages. Long slides, a climbing park, go-karts, Segways, an exciting climbing park, a thrilling tube-riding area, a huge bouncy castle and a 500-metre-long ball track - these are just a few examples of what the 200,000-square-metre area has to offer for younger guests.
The dinosaur park is also impressive, the movements and sounds of the figures seem quite real in the twilight - and the fact that the Struthiosaurus was the only dinosaur known to have lived here in Austria is also news to many.
Jonathan (11) tests his shooting skills in the "soccer cage" and is happy because he doesn't have to go a whole weekend without soccer. But most of all he is fascinated by the large pirate village, many details have been lovingly and realistically recreated, and the skeleton resting comfortably on the lounger makes him smile. The IKUNA nature resort offers a total of more than 90 play stations for children and families. Whole school classes can spend an exciting day here, and there are also suitable offers for children's birthday parties.

Children without cell phones, tablets or PCs
The great thing about the nature park is that the children enjoy being active, want to discover more, slide again and again, climb, balance, jump and more. Motor skills are in the foreground and are activated. No cell phone, no tablet. What could be better than seeing children's eyes sparkle and shine and watching them take part in activities that are both sporty and healthy?
Those who have had enough of the action can set off on their own on the nature trail: wood anemones and marsh marigolds bloom by the stream, vinegar tree and Nordmann fir are well known, but who has heard of the handkerchief tree? Right on the hill next to it is a vintage car exhibition. And in bad weather, the 1000 square meter indoor facility provides action.
"I feel like Yakari"
Overnight stays include comfortable tipi suites. Julia (8) is thrilled by the tipis, which are modeled on Indian tents! "I feel like Yakari here," she says, following in the footsteps of the cartoon character. In the starry sky chalets - built with building materials from Austria - the 40-degree sloping glass roof makes for special moments: You lie in bed with a view of the twinkling firmament. Meanwhile, the newly created camping area offers a vacation close to nature. And the next day, the children beg: "Please slide again, climb again"
