New management at the Zams Education Center

Following the turbulence at St. Vinzenz Bildungszentrum Zams at the beginning of the year, the new management is now in place. Margarethe Achenrainer is the new director. She brings with her expertise in the educational and scientific field of healthcare and nursing as well as a personal connection to the region.

In times of staff shortages in the care sector, training centers are becoming increasingly important. This also applies to the St. Vinzenz Training Center (BiZ) in Zams, the hospital's central training facility for all the different facets of the nursing profession. After turbulent times in January, which culminated in the separation from the director, there has now been a successor since April 2 following interim management: Margarethe Achenrainer is the new woman at the helm.

"I come from a practical background"
She has "a healthy respect for the new task". However, the newcomer is anything but new to the industry: the qualified healthcare and nursing professional has a degree in education with a major in counseling and the basics of psychotherapy. The Tyrolean with Oberland roots, who lives in Zirl, has also worked as a research assistant at UMIT Tirol since 2018. She is familiar with the BiZ and its structures from her previous teaching position in Zams. "I come from a practical background," emphasizes Margarethe Achenrainer, "my top priority is quality in education and value-oriented and respectful cooperation."

The applications for fall 2024 are encouraging.

New cooperation picks up 15-year-olds
With its extensive range of training and further education courses, the BiZ in Zams makes a decisive contribution to the qualification of care professionals, who are urgently needed. Various age groups are addressed with the branches of nursing assistant and nursing assistant. Since 2019, Zams has also been an attractive study location for those seeking an academic degree as part of the FH Bachelor's degree in Healthcare and Nursing. "The applications for fall 2024 are encouraging," adds hospital CEO Bernhard Guggenbichler.

The Katharina Lins Schools recently started offering a new specialization in collaboration with the St. Vinzenz Bildungszentrum, which is aimed at students who have successfully completed the 8th grade. In general, it is emphasized that calm will return to the educational institution.
