Sighting on the Wagram
Did young wolf also walk through Krems suburb?
A wolf caused a stir around Krems in Lower Austria on Wednesday. A "Krone" reader spotted the animal just outside the gates of the school town, and another person is believed to have subsequently observed the stray in the Krems suburb of Rehberg. Now a video from Eggendorf am Wagram in the district of Korneuburg has also emerged.
On Wednesday, a wolf was spotted in the parking lot of the Schnitzel-Drive-in next to the Kremser Bundesstraße 37. A "Krone" reader captured the Isegrim on video.
On Wednesday evening, a photo of the animal also circulated on social media. "Wolf in Rehberg", wrote one user. It is obvious that the mysterious sighting could be the same animal.
Not far from a snack bar
The village of Rehberg, a cadastral municipality of Krems an der Donau, is not far from the schnitzel drive-in in question. The case has now reignited debates about the supposedly shy wild animals, which are apparently increasingly venturing into inhabited areas.
Further video in the Korneuburg district
The "Krone" has now also received a video from a reader from Eggendorf am Wagram, a cadastral municipality in the market town of Stetteldorf am Wagram in the district of Korneuburg. On Tuesday, a person there observed a stray wolf and filmed it.
The animal could be a hybrid, as it is not afraid of humans, hunters suspect. Wolf-dog hybrids have a mixture of dog and wolf characteristics.
