SV Schattendorf
Sports club revives old tradition
After ten years, SV Schattendorf's legendary festival in the main street is celebrating its comeback with its usual charm. The three-day marathon focuses primarily on regionality.
"I can still remember very well when thousands of people from all over the region made the pilgrimage to Schattendorf to stroll along the main street and enjoy all kinds of delicacies at the many specialty stalls and the legendary Greek restaurant," says Thomas Hoffmann.
Festival in its old form
As mayor of the market town, he is particularly keen to bring the village festival back to life: "We want this major social event to take place once again in the way that everyone remembers it best." After discussions with the officials of the sports club, it is now certain that the popular village festival can take place in its old form. To the delight of SV Schattendorf, for whom such events are an important basis for maintaining match operations.
Regional festivities are the driving force behind the economy, safeguard our club life and stimulate tourism.

Start with summer festival
"Historically speaking, the former chairman Josef Pinter put the club, which was struggling financially at the time, on a solid footing with the village festival and saved it," says chairman Alexander Bernhardt. He is proud of the support of his officials: "The work around the festival requires an enormous amount of time, all on a voluntary basis." Friday, July 26, is the day. The ORF summer festival kicks off - including the 20th anniversary of the partnership with Schattendorf and the Bavarian municipality of Rohrdorf. The following day there will be lots of music and a colorful children's program. The three-day good mood marathon ends with a morning pint.
Regionality in the foreground
For the new Wine Burgenland Chairman Herbert Oschep, regional events are of great importance both for tourism and for wine, Burgenland's culinary flagship: "The booking figures prove this. We will continue on this successful path."
