Little Danka is dead
Father stopped vehicle with body in trunk
At a press conference, Serbian Interior Minister Bratislav Gašić was visibly moved and close to tears as he presented new findings on the tragic death of little Danka from Serbia. He revealed a particularly gruesome detail.
The whole of Europe is moved by the tragic fate of little Danka from Serbia, who would have been two years old in May. On March 26, the little girl disappeared from the garden in a village near the town of Bor and is said to have been dead a short time later. But what exactly happened?
Gašić said that Danka left the garden on her own between 13:45 and 15:52 and went for a walk on the street. At around 13:50, the mother, who was desperately searching for the child, is said to have spotted a white car and a man standing next to it. According to one of the suspects, the two men were on a work assignment. A short time later, the two men hit Danka with their car. They confessed, according to the minister. According to reports, the driver was clearly driving too fast for the road conditions.
After the accident, the men put the little girl in the trunk. A short time later, Danka's father is said to have stopped the suspects and asked if they had seen the girl. However, they acted as if they knew nothing and simply drove on.
Body left at landfill site
Gašić went on to reveal that the men had initially left the body at a landfill site. However, there was information that one of them returned there and moved the body to another location. "But we can't trust them because they are blaming each other," the minister said.
Gašić thanked all the officers involved in the search for the child as well as the Austrian police and Interpol for their cooperation and support in the case.
Suspects in custody
The investigation is still ongoing. The search for the girl's body is currently underway. The search is difficult because the area is confusing and partly mountainous. According to a police officer, one of the suspects is said to have taken Danka's body to another location on March 28. The two men suspected of the crime are in custody.
