Return to profitability a “partial success” for Rosenbauer

1.064 billion euros in revenues and thus back above the one-billion-euro mark, plus an operating profit of 37.5 million euros! The figures presented by Rosenbauer on Friday show: The fire equipment supplier is back on track. CEO Sebastian Wolf speaks of a "partial success".

In 2022, Rosenbauer had still posted a loss of 22.3 million euros. The result for the period was now slightly positive again in 2023, at 1.2 million euros.

Manufacturing costs reduced
These improvements are a result of the fitness program that the world's largest firefighting equipment supplier had prescribed for itself. In the course of a total of 54 individual projects, the company, which operates from Leonding (Upper Austria), reduced its manufacturing costs and adjusted its offer prices in response to increased production costs.

CEO Sebastian Wolf speaks of a "partial success": "We must continue to work on our profitability in 2024," he writes in last year's annual report.

Vehicle production still takes too long
And Rosenbauer still has a lot of homework to do, according to its own statement: Lead times in vehicle production are too long, tying up capital remains high as a result, and supply chain disruptions are causing shortcomings in terms of efficiency, CFO Markus Richter lets it be known.

Richter continues: "We have not yet reached our goal, but we are well on the way to realizing the global potential of our Group, which is clearly visible in the order backlog."
