Alexander Eder as a guest
“I want my grandchildren to learn from me at school”
Alexander Eder has come a long way at the age of 25 - but he continues to pursue his dreams and goals with zeal. His music travels from Lower Austria all over the world. The "Krone" met him for an interview.
You must never forget where you come from. That much is certain for Alexander Eder. With over three million followers, the 25-year-old from Neuhofen an der Ybbs has not only become a celebrated TikTok star, but also a much sought-after musician.
He is now filling large halls in German-speaking countries and his new single will be released in a few days. His new album "Quer durch die Bank" will be released in 2025. "My band and I have never gone straight ahead, but always with our heads through the wall." That's why the new album will be rocking, dynamic, strong and, above all, crazy.
Despite his success, the Mostviertel native can often be found in his homeland. "I'm very often in my studio," explains Eder. And that's how his music finds its way from Lower Austria into the wider world. The 25-year-old originally wanted to become an actor, but now he can be found on the music stage.
Eder wanted to be an actor
Even as a child, he played numerous instruments such as the trumpet, drums and guitar - in the end, he decided to sing: "I've always really enjoyed it." Despite passing the entrance exam for the opera, the musician eventually turned to rock-pop. Now he writes his own songs, creates stage shows and produces music videos. "I'm extremely happy that everything has developed in this way."
His biggest goal: "I want my grandchildren to come to me one day and say: Grandpa, we learned from you at school today," says Eder, hoping to make music history. His family and friends help him to remain human and, above all, "the boy from Neuhofen".
To compensate, the former footballer and soccer fan cheers on every Manchester United match. Anyone who would like to experience one of the musician's "home games" live will have the opportunity to do so on May 18 at the Whitsun Festival in Randegg, on July 12 in Langenlois or in the fall at the VAZ St. Pölten.
