Karius fiancée:
Auto-saved draft
Ex-Liverpool goalie Loris Karius and his fiancée Diletta Leotta had imagined things differently. Their visit to Berlin's trendy Berghain club backfired - they were simply not allowed in. "I've never been ditched like that before," the DAZN presenter revealed.
Several Italian gazzettes and the German newspaper "Bild" reported on the dream couple's short vacation in Berlin. Karius, now a substitute goalkeeper at Newcastle United, wanted to spend a nice evening at the Berghain club with his fiancée Leotta. The 30-year-old played for Union Berlin from 2020 to 2021. So he knows the city very well. But if you think footballers and celebrities can get in anywhere, you've done the math without the strict bouncers in Berlin.
Background: Berghain mainly plays techno music and the club is known for its strict admission criteria. Photos and videos are not allowed. If you are dressed conspicuously or give the security staff at the entrance a dirty look, you can leave. Karius and Leotta apparently also had to make this experience ...
Speaking to Daniele Battaglia, an Italian radio presenter, she said: "You know that I was in Berlin and you know that I told you that I really wanted to go to Berghain, this very famous nightclub, but where there is a very strict entrance control."
Leotta continues: "I arrived with my beautiful coat, you know, the yellow one with all the fringes, and with a beaming smile at the front and said 'Hello! But guys, I've never been dumped like that before."
"They shook their heads"
Oops! According to the Italian DAZN presenter, however, the dress code would not have been the problem. "Loris made a mistake, among other things, because he made me go in first. Normally girls have more chances. And they looked at me like that and shook their heads."
Engagement, child, wedding
Nevertheless, the two had a great time, at least that's what the snapshots on Instagram suggest. "Lots of fun, love and beautiful tattoos in Berlin," Leotta wrote underneath. She and Karius have been together since October 2022 and engaged since February 2023. In August 2023, they became parents to little Aria. Their love is set to be crowned with a wedding in July.
