Because of top sponsor:
Protest fans build a “car wash” in front of the LASK Arena!
Funny and creative, but also questionable, controversial and for many even absolutely wrong! The escalation of action against a top sponsor shown by LASK fans on Sunday at the Bundesliga 0:1 in Graz continued a day later in front of the LASK Arena . . .
Washed too hot? Spun too hard?
After the new "washing machine protests" by fans on Monday, these are currently the questions of all questions surrounding LASK:
- Less in sporting terms, although in the last 630 minutes of play, with only one goal scored, not much went cleanly offensively, first and foremost.
- However, the questions posed at the beginning of this article are more of a fan-related nature, as supporters once again protested against the increasing commercialization of the club and, above all, against top sponsor BWT during the 1-0 loss in Graz on Sunday. A point of view that is also extremely controversial in supporters' circles and is referred to as a "double-edged sword".
LASK faces fine
Especially as this group had once again refused to support the team against Sturm Graz for the first 19:08 minutes. They then staged a creatively witty protest, which led to damage to property and a five-minute interruption to the match. LASK - who are also responsible for their supporters at away matches - are threatened with a fine by the league. In addition, neutral observers and some non-LASK sympathizers have strongly criticized the negative attitude of these fan groups towards the club's economically important partner BWT.
As an old Vorwärts fan, I would be delighted if Steyr had such a great sponsor, then things might start to look up again.

"As an old Vorwärts fan, I would be happy if Steyr had such a great sponsor, then maybe things would start looking up again," wrote "Krone" reader Thomas H. yesterday morning, for example, when the BWT agitators among the LASK fans, who fear a loss of identity and thus a loss of tradition, had already delivered the next washing machine protest action.
In the morning, they had transformed the entrance to the Raiffeisen Arena into a "washing street" thanks to old washing machine housings. To symbolize, as in Graz, that the LASK kit, dyed pink by BWT, urgently needed a wash to make it clean again and thus black and white. . .
