The entry ban imposed by the city of Potsdam on the former head of the far-right Identitarian movement in Austria, Martin Sellner, does not currently apply. After Sellner lodged an appeal against it, the competent administrative court in Potsdam stated on Monday: "As is customary in summary proceedings - to avert fait accompli - the defendant has been asked by the court not to enforce the entry ban until a decision has been made on the summary application."

It is currently not possible to predict when a decision will be made - the parties involved still have the opportunity to comment, the spokesperson continued.

The background to the case is that, according to Sellner himself, he spoke about so-called remigration at a meeting of radical right-wingers in a Potsdam villa in November 2023.

He understands this to mean that people with foreign roots have to leave the country en masse, including people with a German passport.

The media outlet "Correctiv" reported on the meeting, which was attended by several AfD members as well as members of the CDU and the very conservative Werteunion.
