After her Prince Andrew spoke about his friendship with pedophile sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on the BBC news program "Newsnight" in 2019, Princess Beatrice is said to have "cried every day." However, the reason is said not to have been the connection to Epstein, but because she could have prevented the interview.

With the release of the new Netflix film "Scoop", it has now become internationally known that the elder daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson took part in the meetings before the interview and may have played a central role.

In the film, Beatrice actress Charity Wakefield takes very concentrated notes during the discussions with the BBC people. According to British media, her parents are said to have trusted her judgment at the time.

Honorary title withdrawn
Neither they nor Andrew would have thought about the scandal his statements about his not infrequent meetings with Epstein and his aide Ghislaine Maxwell would cause and that he would now actually be held accountable.

He lost his honorary titles, was no longer allowed to appear on behalf of the Royal Family and was sued under civil law in the USA for sexual abuse of a 17-year-old girl, which was resolved in a settlement with a million-euro payment from the Prince.

"Angry" and "upset"
Royal expert Jennie Bond, who spoke to "OK!" magazine, is convinced that Beatrice must be "angry" and "upset" about the Netflix production.

According to Bond, the princess is likely to be concerned not only that the controversy surrounding her father is being reopened, but also that her involvement in the conversation is now becoming known to a wider audience.

Bond emphasized: "Beatrice in particular will no doubt be angry and upset that her role in preparing and overseeing the interview is now being made so public."

Royal duties?
The British public is currently debating whether Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could or should possibly take on royal duties, as both King Charles and Princess Kate are currently absent due to cancer treatments.

However, there are no statements from the royal family and apparently no plans. The appearances will instead be divided between the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Queen Camilla.

Married since 2020
Beatrice married her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020 without a public announcement and within the closest family circle.

Her husband Edoardo has a son from a previous relationship. Beatrice is therefore the first stepmother in the royal family. Her first child, daughter Sienna, was born in September 2021.
