Tractor loses tires, excavator falls off trailer

Spectacular traffic accident on Tuesday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: a rear tire suddenly came off a tractor that was driving on the B170 in Wörgl (Kufstein district) with a trailer and an excavator loaded onto it. As a result, the 7-ton excavator tipped over and crashed onto the embankment.

The curious accident happened shortly after 7 am. A 41-year-old local man was driving a tractor and trailer carrying a seven-ton excavator on the B170 Brixentalstraße in the direction of Wörgl when the left rear wheel of the tractor suddenly came off for an unknown reason.

The driver was not injured in the accident.

Driver had a stroke of luck
As a result, the trailer tipped over and the excavator crashed onto the adjacent embankment, where it came to a halt lying on its side. Luckily: "The driver was not injured in the accident," according to the police.

Obstructions after the accident
It is not known whether and to what extent the trailer and the excavator were damaged. In any case, the guard rail there was severely damaged. The accident caused traffic obstructions and the B170 was only passable in one lane until around 9 am.
