"Kill them all"
IS terror threat ahead of CL quarter-finals
Unpleasant news ahead of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday and Wednesday! The terrorist militia Islamic State (IS) is said to have issued a threat against all four host stadiums.
The following photomontage is currently circulating on X, the origin of this posting is said to come from an IS propaganda medium:
Real Madrid and Manchester City (9 p.m.) and FC Arsenal and FC Bayern Munich (9 p.m.) meet today in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. On Wednesday, the matches Atlético Madrid - Borussia Dortmund and Paris St. Germian - FC Barcelona are on the program.
"Kill them all"
The Emirates Stadium in London, the Parc de Princes in Paris and Madrid's Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabéu stadiums can be seen in a four-part picture. In front of them is a masked terrorist with a Kalashnikov. The words "Kill them all" can also be read.
The security system in Spain has been ramped up. "In order to counter the terrorist threat, the state security forces have activated all their early warning and protection systems as well as their defense mechanisms," announced the Ministry of the Interior in Madrid.
The government and the state security forces have taken all necessary measures to guarantee the safety of participants and visitors to the two sporting events as well as Spanish citizens in general, the ministry emphasized. 2,000 police officers and other security personnel will ensure that the two matches go ahead safely.
According to media reports, it is unlikely that any matches will be canceled.
Next threat
It would be the next suspected terrorist threat after a photo circulated online a few days ago in the German Bundesliga ahead of the classic match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, in which the Allianz Arena was marked as a target. The IS propaganda channel Sarh al-Khilafah was responsible for this.
The terrorist organization IS had recently claimed responsibility for the attack on a concert hall near Moscow. At least 144 people were killed in the attack.
