"Salzburg for children"
Young and old can learn something new with this book
A new children's book by Pongau author Sandra Klammer takes you on a journey through well-known and lesser-known episodes in the history of the city of Mozart. Answers to the question of whether Mozart had pets are included.
Why are there so many churches in the old town? Why did horses need a bathtub? Which famous Salzburgers are there apart from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Sandra Klammer has found the answers to these and many other questions. Together with illustrator Jill Goritschnig, the historian and author has packed them into a children's book about the city of Salzburg.
Lovingly and playfully designed, in "Salzburg for Children" (Anton Pustet Verlag) inquisitive explorers get their money's worth. Even though the book is recommended for children aged six and over, young and old alike can learn a lot of new things and discover them on the spot.
Arrived at the children's book by chance
The young Pongau author Sandra Klammer came to the book project by chance. She developed an exhibition tour for children at the Tauernbahn Museum in Schwarzach and wrote stories about the locomotive Rosalie. They were very well received and she was subsequently asked to take part in the book project.
It quickly became clear that the history of Salzburg over the centuries had many exciting topics to offer. Especially apart from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. "I was amazed a few times myself," says the historian. Mozart is of course given his rightful place. And: there is also an answer to the question of whether he had pets.
And: working on a book is not entirely new for Klammer. She has already written four romance novels for adults under the pseudonym "Hanna E. Lore".
