Neuberg Culture Days
Musical celebration of Bruckner’s 200th birthday
There are few places more fitting to celebrate Anton Bruckner's 200th birthday than Neuberg Minster. Intendant Stefan Vladar probably thought so too when he programmed his 4th Symphony for the opening of the Neuberg Culture Days on 13 July.
Together with the Filharmonie Brno, Vladar will perform Bruckner's "Romantic" in the Neuberg Minster. This brilliant opening will be followed by highlight after highlight: Erika Pluhar and pianist Roland Guggenbichler will perform on July 14. The actress and author will read from her book "Die Stimme erheben".
Gregorian chorales with the Schola Resupina are on the program on 16 July, while on 17 July saxophonist Gerald Preinfalk, pianist Irén Seleljo and actor Abel Haffner perform a jazz concert based around George Gershwin and Ernst Jandl.
Musical delights
The popular organ walk with Gottfried Holzer-Graf from the Grünanger Church to Neuberg Minster is on the program on 18 July. The following day, Bruckner's birthday will be celebrated by a prominent quintet - Matthias Bartolomey, Sophie Druml, Jevgenijs Cepoveckis, Benjamin Schmid and Aoi Selditz - before Vladar invites you to a piano recital on July 20.
This will be followed by the masterclass lecturers' concert, Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" with the Austrian Brass Consort, the duo Magda Amara and Matthias Bartolomey and a song recital with Bo Skovhus.
Of course, the students of the master classes will also be honored with performances and the Sunday masses will also be solemnly arranged by the musicians. Tickets for the concerts are available now!
