"Beastly mobile"
From wingspan to spawning migration
At the House of Nature in the Museum of Lower Austria in St. Pölten, the new special exhibition "Animal Mobile! Nature in motion" offers exciting insights into the world of movement
A fascinating journey into the world of amazing physical feats and impressive navigational skills is currently underway at the House of Nature in the Museum of Lower Austria. True to the motto "Beastly mobile! Nature in motion", interactive stations with jumping frogs and grasshoppers are also waiting to be explored by curious visitors until February 9, 2025.
The sun and the blue planet - our earth - are central elements for the prevailing living conditions. Smaller and larger animal migrations within Lower Austria and across the country's borders are explored, as well as the development of the seasons and their peculiarities.
Preserving biodiversity
"Why do animals migrate and when? What are the key physical requirements in water, on land and in the air? How and why do we humans observe the movements of animals?" explains Ronald Lintner, Scientific Director, the most important questions to be answered in the special exhibition. And all those who want to make a contribution to biodiversity have the opportunity to do so at the "City Nature Challenge" from April 26 to 29.
