Tension before the committee
Marsalek, Ott and more: what Kickl is being questioned about
An old memo prepared in the course of the BVT and Ibiza investigations reveals new insights into the blue wires of Russian spy Jan Marsalek. The memo suggests that the illegal house search at the BVT could have been indirectly "inspired" by the wires of the former Wirecard board member and also indirectly influenced the state election in Lower Austria. Circumstances that FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl is expected to explain to the committee on Thursday.
The spy network surrounding Jan Marsalek and Egisto Ott is getting bluer and bluer - and more explosive. As chat messages show, the FPÖ, at least under the former club chairman Johann Gudenus, had a direct line to the Russian spy wanted worldwide. Starting from Marsalek, messages and information were exchanged via the blue intermediary that could have influenced political processes and personnel decisions.
"Pyramid" project and "Muslim mom"
The threesome chatted about the "Pyramid" project - a planned realignment of the BVT and Marsalek's plan to set up a refugee camp in Egypt. "The Egyptian government would agree to a refugee camp and the USA would support it," reads a message forwarded to Gudenus by the intermediary - followed by the message: "Comes from Jan, please discuss in the Federal Ministry of the Interior whether we should take action."
However, the topics were not only of an international nature. They also discussed the state elections in Lower Austria in 2017.
