Five girls robbed an Armani jacket from a passer-by

Once again, Vienna's Reumannplatz was the scene of a robbery. This time the perpetrators were girls, some of whom were minors.

Crime scene Reumannplatz: Because they liked the expensive brand jacket of a young passer-by, a young gang in Vienna-Favoriten punched and kicked its wearer. Three schoolgirls had to answer for robbery in Vienna's Landl district. Two accomplices are under the age of criminal responsibility.

The extent to which the situation at Reumannplatz has already escalated is shown by the many court files in which the central location in Vienna-Favoriten appears as a crime scene. This week, for example, another disturbing case of juvenile delinquency was heard in Vienna's Landl district.

Three girls, aged 14 and 15, are sitting in the dock. "Are you bored because you're lounging around here like this?" Judge Hahn asked the third accused Austrian girl, a few minutes after she had arrived late for her robbery trial.

Photo with jacket for Insta as a pretext
During the interrogation, the young woman, who has two criminal records, behaves brashly. On January 3, she and her two Syrian friends - together with two underage girls under the age of 14 - brutally beat up a Viennese woman born in 2008. "I asked her if I could take a photo with her Armani jacket for Insta", said the first defendant. That was just a pretext.

The girls actually wanted to take the expensive item of clothing away from her. The first defendant describes what happened when this didn't work straight away: "I gave her a fist." The girls took turns punching and kicking their victim. "I pulled the jacket," said the first defendant. The others "pulled" the 16-year-old's hood, fanny pack and cell phone.

Lenient conditional sentences
The sentences, which are not legally binding, are lenient: Five and four months conditional sentences respectively for the two blameless Syrian girls, three months conditional additional sentence for the snotty Austrian girl.
