Liefering’s record player wants a step up

Luka Reischl is already playing his fourth season in the second division and is the Young Bulls' record player in terms of games played. The Pongau native still needs to work on his goal tally. Friday's game is against league leaders GAK.

Luka Reischl has been playing for Liefering in the second division for four seasons now. After 81 games so far, Liefering's record player is ready for the next step. However, his goal tally leaves a lot to be desired. The 20-year-old has only scored ten goals in 81 games. "You don't always have to score a goal to play well," says the striker. Nevertheless, one thing is clear: if he doesn't improve his goal-scoring form significantly, it will be difficult to be drafted up to the Bulls.

The Pongau native is open to anything: "Of course I hope to join Salzburg in the summer, but all doors are open. I haven't spoken to the club yet." Whether loan, promotion or transfer is still unclear at the moment. In the seven spring games, Reischl was always in the starting eleven and contributed three goals. "We've brought in a few older players again, of course you can see the experience," he explains.

This run will come to a halt against league leaders GAK on Friday. The team from Graz are on the brink of promotion and have only suffered two defeats this season. Lukas Wallner is also missing because he picked up a fifth yellow card in the game against Stripfing. The away game went clearly to the Red Jackets with 3:0.
